2023 Volkswagen ID4 Family Electric · GL72 VGD

A consistent record of clean roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with no defects or advisories noted across its documented testing history. The latest MOT test completed on 19 September 2026 confirms this trend, showing a vehicle that has met all regulatory standards for structural integrity, lighting, and braking without any recorded failures. This pattern of zero defects across consecutive tests suggests that the mechanical components inspected during the MOT process have remained within acceptable tolerances. The vehicle exhibits an unusually low usage profile for its age, having covered only 10,293 miles over approximately three years. This equates to an annual average of roughly 3,431 miles, which is significantly below the typical UK average for this vehicle class. While low mileage generally implies less wear on mechanical consumables such as suspension bushes, brake discs, and tyres, such infrequent use can sometimes result in components being subjected to longer periods of inactivity. Given the lack of recorded advisories or failures, there are no specific mechanical defects to target for inspection. However, because the mileage is notably low, a test drive should focus on ensuring that components that typically require regular movement remain functional. Pay close attention to the smoothness of the braking system to ensure no binding occurs in the calipers, and listen for any unusual knocks or rattles from the suspension linkages or coil springs that might indicate components have stiffened or seized due to infrequent use. The absence of any recorded oil misting, exhaust emissions issues, or structural corrosion in the MOT history means the primary focus during a physical inspection should be on the immediate operational feel of the vehicle. Check for any pulling to one side during straight-line driving to ensure wheel alignment remains correct, and verify that the steering feels precise and free from any intermittent heaviness or vibration.
