Chronic oil leaks and recurring suspension wear define the mechanical profile of this vehicle, with a trend of increasing advisories over the last four years. While the most recent test on 18 February 2026 resulted in a pass, it continues to flag an oil leak and deteriorating rear tyres, echoing a pattern of fluid and rubber component degradation seen in previous years. The recorded mileage of 141,814 miles is typical for a nineteen year old vehicle, averaging approximately 7,464 miles per year. This consistent usage pattern suggests the drivetrain and chassis have been subjected to standard wear and tear, meaning consumables such as suspension bushings, engine mounts, and brake components are likely reaching the end of their natural service life. Particular attention should be paid to the chassis and drivetrain mounts. The 2025 record flagged a defective front lower gearbox mounting, and 2024 saw a failure for a fractured offside rear coil spring alongside corrosion on the nearside rear spring and worn axle swivel pins and bushes. During a test drive, listen for knocks or thumps when traversing speed bumps or uneven road surfaces, and feel for any unusual vibrations through the gear lever or chassis during acceleration and deceleration. The persistent recording of oil leaks from both the engine and gearbox since 2023 requires a physical inspection of the underside for active seepage. Check the coolant and brake fluid levels, as both were noted as low in 2025, and listen for any audible exhaust leaks from the mid section. Additionally, the rear tyres have been repeatedly flagged for perishing and edge wear; inspect the sidewalls for fine cracking and the tread for uneven wear patterns that could indicate misalignment or worn suspension components.
