2008 BMW R1200 1.2L Petrol · HY08 OFO

The vehicle maintains a high level of roadworthiness with a consistently stable maintenance trend. The most recent inspection conducted on 15 April 2025 at 25,917 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded, mirroring the clean results from previous years. This suggests the motorcycle has been well-kept and has not encountered significant mechanical or structural failures during the testing period. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for an eighteen-year-old machine, averaging approximately 1,440 miles per year. Between the April 2022 test at 25,730 miles and the April 2023 test at 25,894 miles, the vehicle covered only 164 miles in a full year. This pattern indicates the bike sits for long periods rather than being subjected to high-frequency use. While this limits wear on the drivetrain and engine, it often introduces risks related to the degradation of rubber-based components rather than mechanical friction. A buyer must prioritize a physical inspection of components that suffer from age-related decay rather than mileage-related wear. Given the low usage, check for cracking and perish in the tyres, fork seals, and brake lines, as well as checking for seized brake calipers due to lack of movement. The suspension should also be inspected for signs of corrosion or perished perished seals, as long-term storage can lead to internal oxidation that low mileage does not prevent.
