2022 Honda HR-V Advance I-MMD CVT 1.5L Hybrid electric (clean) · JM11 TAZ

The 2022 Honda HR-V has demonstrated consistent roadworthiness over its MOT history, with both recent tests in December 2025 and January 2024 passing without any recorded defects. The absence of advisories or failings across these intervals suggests the vehicle has been maintained at a basic level, though the lack of documented servicing or repairs means critical components like suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers remain uninspected beyond the MOT’s functional thresholds. The most recent test, just five months ago, confirms no immediate failures in emissions, structural integrity, or safety-critical systems, but this does not preclude hidden wear—particularly in the CVT transmission, which is prone to fluid degradation over time. The recorded mileage of 23,370 miles over four years equates to approximately 5,842 miles annually, a figure significantly lower than average for a vehicle of this age. This suggests either light usage or prolonged periods of inactivity, which could accelerate certain forms of degradation such as suspension corrosion or battery sulphation. The gap between tests—4,496 miles in under a year—does not indicate aggressive driving, but it also means the vehicle has not been subjected to the wear that might have prompted earlier intervention. Without service records, there is no evidence of proactive maintenance, such as fluid changes or alignment checks, which are essential for preserving alignment and drivetrain longevity. Given the sparse MOT history, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of the CVT transmission for fluid condition and leaks, as fluid degradation is a common failure mode in these systems. The suspension should be assessed for worn or cracked bushes, particularly at the rear, where binding or uneven wear is often overlooked. Brake discs and calipers, though not failed in testing, may exhibit uneven wear or corrosion if the vehicle has stood for extended periods. Structural components, including the underbody and wheel arches, should be checked for corrosion, as low mileage does not preclude rust progression in humid conditions. Finally, the battery and electrical connections warrant scrutiny, as prolonged inactivity can lead to sulphation or corrosion, compromising starting reliability.
