2016 Ford Galaxy 2.0L Diesel · KF66 LWN

The vehicle is currently roadworthy, with the maintenance trend showing signs of stability following a reactive period. The most recent test in October 2024 at 187,254 miles passed with no mechanical defects, though an advisory noted an excessively tinted nearside windscreen. This follows a clean pass in 2023 at 183,149 miles, indicating that the recurring issues identified in previous years have been addressed or resolved by the owner. The mileage profile is significantly high for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 18,700 miles per year. The record shows consistent, heavy usage, with a 4,105-mile interval between the October 2023 and October 2024 tests. This constant operation suggests the vehicle has likely seen motorway miles, which can be beneficial for engine components but accelerates the wear on rubber components such as tyres, bushings, and suspension components. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the front suspension geometry, as the history reveals recurring issues with the nearside front anti-roll bar linkage and tyre wear. In 2021 and 2022, the nearside front tyre was repeatedly flagged for being worn to the legal limit or showing uneven wear, which often indicates alignment issues or worn shocks. The deterioration of the anti-roll bar linkage gaiter noted in 2021 requires a fresh check to ensure the ball joint has not developed play from moisture ingress. Given the high mileage, a thorough check of the drivetrain and braking system is also essential. While the MOT record does not highlight structural corrosion or binding calipers, the 2021 failure regarding the rear seat belt buckle suggests that safety-critical items were occasionally overlooked. The buyer should look for signs of oil leaks and inspect the exhaust system for excessive rust, as the 187,000-mile mark puts significant strain on the Ford Galaxy's heavy mechanical components.
