The 2026-01-15 MOT at 69,165 miles confirms the vehicle remains roadworthy with no defects recorded, indicating a stable maintenance trend. All previous tests from 2017 through 2025 have also passed without any reported faults, showing that the car has consistently met the required standards. At 14 years of age, the recorded 69,165 miles equate to roughly 4,940 miles per year, a figure well below the average for a vehicle of this vintage and suggesting light usage or extended periods of inactivity. Mileage has risen steadily from 38,078 miles in July 2017 to 69,165 miles in January 2026, with increments of about 2,000 to 3,000 miles annually, and the only anomaly—a failure in November 2021—produced no recorded defects, after which subsequent tests have continued to pass. A buyer should therefore inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for wear, verify that the rear brake calipers are not binding, and examine the brake discs for scoring or corrosion, as these components commonly show signs of use even when MOTs record no defects. Check for any structural rust on the chassis, particularly around the wheel arches and sills, and assess the condition of the exhaust system for cracks or excessive corrosion. Overall, the vehicle’s low mileage, consistent pass history, and absence of recorded defects suggest reliable mechanical health, but a thorough physical inspection remains essential to confirm the absence of hidden wear or corrosion.
