2013 Audi A3 2.0L Diesel · KV13 AEN

The 2013 Audi A3 shows a consistent roadworthiness record with no defects or advisories across its most recent five MOT tests, including the latest pass on 2 March 2026 at 125,102 miles. This suggests the vehicle has maintained compliance with UK safety and emissions standards without recurring mechanical failures. The absence of advisories or failings in the past two years indicates that major components—such as suspension bushes, coil springs, brake calipers, and exhaust systems—have not been flagged for deterioration. However, the single failure in March 2023 at 88,023 miles, despite being retested and passed shortly after, warrants scrutiny of whether this was an isolated oversight or a symptom of a neglected area. The mileage progression of approximately 9,600 miles annually is typical for a vehicle of this age, though the gap between the 2023 failure and subsequent pass—just three days—is unusual and may indicate a rushed retest rather than genuine improvement. The consistent 12-month intervals between tests suggest regular servicing, though no service history is provided to confirm maintenance beyond MOT compliance. The lack of advisories in earlier tests implies that basic upkeep, such as tyre tread depth and brake pad wear, has been managed, but this does not preclude hidden wear in less accessible areas like the subframe or drivetrain. Given the clean MOT record, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of the suspension geometry, particularly the rear bushes and ball joints, as these are common failure points in Audi models of this era. The brakes, while not explicitly failed, should be examined for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle exhibits pulling or reduced stopping efficiency. Structural corrosion, particularly around the wheel arches and sills, should be checked for signs of rust penetration that could compromise the subframe or body integrity. Finally, the exhaust system should be inspected for leaks or excessive corrosion, as the absence of advisories in prior tests does not guarantee long-term reliability of this component.
