The vehicle’s most recent MOT test on 2026-02-20 at 33,901 miles confirms it remains roadworthy with no defects recorded. This consistency across five consecutive tests—all passing without fail—indicates a stable maintenance history, though the absence of advisories or defects does not guarantee hidden issues. The latest test occurred just five months ago, which is acceptable given the vehicle’s age and mileage, though a pre-purchase inspection remains essential to verify components not routinely checked under MOT standards. The recorded mileage of 33,901 miles over nine years suggests unusually light usage, averaging just 3,767 miles annually. This pattern is notable for a vehicle of this age, as prolonged low mileage can lead to fluid degradation (e.g., brake fluid, coolant, differential oil) and component dry-rotting. The intervals between tests are regular, with roughly 1,000 miles accumulated between each MOT, which aligns with typical annual mileage expectations. However, the lack of service records means critical fluid changes may not have been performed as recommended by the manufacturer. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise inspecting suspension components—particularly coil springs and bushes—for wear or corrosion, as these are often overlooked in low-mileage vehicles. The brakes, while not flagged in tests, should be scrutinised for uneven pad wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Exhaust emissions and catalytic converter efficiency, though not explicitly tested here, warrant attention due to the vehicle’s age, as particulate filters and oxygen sensors can degrade silently. Finally, a thorough check for structural corrosion—particularly around wheel arches, sills, and the subframe—is critical, as rust can compromise safety-critical elements even in lightly used cars.
