2014 Bentley Continental 6.0L Petrol · LU54 ANN

The most recent MOT inspection completed in November 2025 resulted in a clean pass with no defects recorded. Evaluating the overall maintenance trend from 2018 to the present, the vehicle demonstrates a highly stable and positive history. The only recorded advisory appeared in 2020 regarding rear tyre wear, but this was clearly rectified as the subsequent five years of testing have been entirely free of defects. This consistency suggests a vehicle that has been well-maintained and that any minor consumable issues are addressed promptly. The recorded mileage of 31,419 miles is exceptionally low for a twelve-year-old vehicle, representing an average annual usage of approximately 2,618 miles. While this indicates minimal wear on the primary mechanical components such as the engine, transmission, and suspension geometry, such low usage patterns often imply the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary. In high-end vehicles like this Bentley, long periods of standing can lead to different types of degradation compared to high-mileage cars, specifically regarding the chemical stability of fluids and the integrity of rubber components. During your physical inspection and test drive, you should focus on age-related issues rather than mileage-based wear. Closely examine the tyres for signs of perishing or sidewall cracking, as rubber can degrade due to age even if the tread depth remains high. Check for any uneven tyre wear which might suggest suspension bush deterioration or alignment issues. You should also inspect the brake discs for heavy corrosion or pitting, which is common in low-use vehicles, and listen for any signs of binding calipers or unusual noises from the braking system during low-speed manoeuvres. It is also essential to verify that the vehicle has been serviced on a calendar basis rather than solely on a mileage basis. Check the service book for evidence of annual oil changes and fluid replacements, as engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid can degrade over time due to moisture absorption and oxidation. Pay attention to the condition of the 12V battery and ensure there are no signs of fluid leaks from seals that may have dried out due to inactivity. Verifying the continuity of the service history is critical to ensuring the long-term reliability of such a sophisticated vehicle.
