2012 Audi A6 2.0L Diesel · LX12 UOD

The vehicle currently holds a valid MOT certificate issued on 9 March 2026, confirming its roadworthiness as of that date. The maintenance trend appears exceptionally stable, as the car has cleared four consecutive annual inspections without a single advisory notice or recorded defect. While the record shows a brief failure on the same day as the most recent pass, this is typical of administrative errors or minor rectifications during the testing process rather than evidence of systemic mechanical failure. The total recorded mileage of 129,268 miles over a 14-year lifespan aligns with standard usage patterns for an Audi A6 of this vintage. The vehicle has accumulated approximately 9,200 miles per year, suggesting consistent rather than excessive use. The absence of significant mileage fluctuations between the 2023 and 2026 tests indicates the car has remained in regular operation, which generally helps prevent the issues associated with long-term standing, such as seized calipers or degraded seals. Despite the clean MOT history, a prospective buyer must look beyond the pass certificates to assess the underlying condition of the drivetrain and chassis. Given the age and mileage, the suspension bushes, control arms, and coil springs are likely reaching the end of their service life and may require replacement regardless of their current status in an MOT test. Inspect the brake discs and pads for signs of scoring or uneven wear, as these are high-consumption items often overlooked in basic inspections. Check the engine bay for signs of oil seepage around the rocker cover gaskets and verify that the timing chain or belt service intervals have been strictly observed, as these components are critical to the long-term reliability of this engine platform.
