2005 Hyundai Tucson 2.0L Diesel · MD55 AHY

This vehicle is currently roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, having passed its most recent MOT on 27 March 2026 at 120,446 miles. The record shows a clean bill of health with no defects or advisories listed during the last three successful tests. While the car failed its most recent attempt on 17 March 2026 and a previous attempt on 20 March 2024, the lack of recorded defects in the data suggests these were likely administrative errors or minor issues resolved immediately. The mileage is notably low for a 21 year old vehicle, averaging roughly 5,736 miles per year. Between 21 March 2024 and 27 March 2026, the odometer increased by 4,333 miles, confirming the car remains in active use rather than sitting dormant. This low annual usage reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components but can sometimes mask issues related to rubber perished parts or fluid degradation. A physical inspection should focus on areas the MOT tester may have overlooked or that do not trigger an automatic failure. Given the age of this Tucson, check for structural corrosion on the chassis and sills, as rust often develops regardless of low mileage. Inspect the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs for cracking, as rubber components degrade over two decades. Verify the condition of the brake discs and calipers for pitting or seizing, which is common in low-mileage vehicles. Check the tyre dates to ensure the rubber has not hardened with age, even if the tread depth remains legal. Finally, a manual check of the oil and coolant condition will confirm if the low mileage has been accompanied by a strict service regime.
