2008 Audi A3 1.6L Petrol · MM57 URH

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, maintaining a clean MOT record over the last three years. The most recent test conducted on 31 March 2023 at 87,451 miles passed with no defects or advisories recorded. This indicates that since the significant failure in 2021, the mechanical and safety components have met the required standards without further recorded issues during subsequent testing cycles. The mileage pattern is notably low for an eighteen-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 4,858 miles per year. The data shows a distinct plateau in usage between March 2020 and March 2023, where the car covered only 1,069 miles over three years. This suggests the vehicle was used sparingly or sat for extended periods. While low mileage typically reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, long periods of standing can lead to degradation of rubber-based parts, such as perished hoses and seals, which are not always reflected in the mileage alone. A buyer should pay close attention to the failure recorded on 31 March 2021 at 86,800 miles, where all four tyres failed for exposed ply and cords. This suggests a period of neglected maintenance where basic consumables were ignored until failure. Given the age of the car, a physical inspection must verify the current condition of the tyres for sidewall cracking or age-related rot. Additionally, despite the clean MOT history, the buyer should check for structural corrosion on the chassis and the condition of the suspension bushes, as these are common points of failure on this era of Audi regardless of mileage driven.
