2016 Hyundai Santa FE 2.2L Diesel · RK16 ABN

The 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe exhibits a stable roadworthiness trend, with no defects recorded in its most recent March 2025 MOT at 71,992 miles. The prior four tests from 2022 to 2024 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance. The single failed test in March 2022 at 39,008 miles was recorded as ‘no defects,’ suggesting a procedural error or minor non-compliance resolved before the subsequent pass. No recurring mechanical or structural concerns are evident in the history, reflecting a vehicle maintained to standard. The mileage progression aligns with typical usage for a 10-year-old vehicle, averaging 7,199 miles annually. The gap between the 2022 and 2023 tests (11,695 miles) and the 2024 to 2025 tests (7,539 miles) shows steady accumulation without abrupt spikes or prolonged inactivity. The 2022 failed test occurred just one day before the next MOT, implying rapid remediation. The absence of advisories or repeated failures suggests no systemic wear issues, though the vehicle’s age necessitates scrutiny of high-mileage components. A buyer should inspect the suspension for worn bushes or coil springs, common in older SUVs, and check brake discs for uneven wear given the 72,000-mile mark. The exhaust system, particularly near the catalytic converter, warrants attention for corrosion. While no structural rust or major faults are documented, the 2022 failed test’s ambiguity highlights the need to verify that all safety-critical systems—brakes, steering, and emissions—were fully addressed. The MOT history confirms no critical failures, but physical inspection remains essential to confirm the vehicle’s condition.
