2022 Honda CRF 1100 D-N 1.1L Petrol · RO22 YNX

The most recent DVSA MOT inspection conducted on 9 September 2025 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. Given that this vehicle is a 2022 model, it has only recently entered the mandatory testing cycle. The absence of any failure points or cautionary notes indicates a stable maintenance trend and suggests that the vehicle has been kept in a condition consistent with its low usage. The recorded mileage of 5,349 miles is significantly below the average for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 1,337 miles per year. While this suggests minimal mechanical wear on the engine internals, gearbox, and final drive, such low annual usage often indicates periods of prolonged inactivity. While the drivetrain remains fresh, the primary mechanical concern shifts from wear-and-tear to the degradation of components caused by standing. Due to the low mileage and clean MOT history, the physical inspection should focus on age-related deterioration rather than usage-based wear. It is essential to examine the tyre sidewalls for signs of perishing or hairline cracking, as rubber compounds degrade over time regardless of tread depth. The brake discs should be inspected for surface corrosion, and the calipers checked for binding, which can occur when a vehicle sits idle for extended periods. Ensure the battery is holding a strong charge and has not suffered permanent capacity loss from infrequent use. Finally, verify the service history to ensure that maintenance has been performed on a calendar basis rather than solely by mileage. Engine oil and brake fluid degrade over time due to oxidation and moisture absorption, meaning the vehicle should have had scheduled fluid changes despite the low odometer reading. A thorough review of the service book stamps will confirm if the manufacturer's recommended intervals have been respected, ensuring the long-term reliability of the seals and internal lubrication systems.
