2024 Vauxhall Astra GS EV Electric · RO65 SSS

The vehicle has no recorded MOT test in the DVSA database, which means there is no official evidence of a recent inspection, pass or fail, and consequently no trend in maintenance performance can be established from MOT data. In the absence of such records, the prospective buyer should treat the lack of a documented MOT as a potential risk and seek independent verification of the car’s roadworthiness through a comprehensive pre‑purchase inspection. Mileage for the 2024 Astra GS EV is not supplied, so a direct comparison with the vehicle’s two‑year age is impossible. A typical usage pattern for a two‑year‑old family hatchback in the UK would be in the region of 6,000 to 12,000 miles per annum; any figure markedly above this would suggest higher wear on the electric drivetrain, suspension components and tyre tread, while a very low reading could indicate limited use but also raises the possibility of odometer tampering. The buyer should request documented service stamps, charging session logs or a full‑history report from a reputable data provider to corroborate the true mileage and to assess whether the vehicle has been driven under normal conditions. Given the absence of MOT data and an unknown mileage, the inspection should concentrate on age‑related and time‑based items. Examine the tyre sidewalls for cracking, dry rot or excessive tread wear that could have developed despite low mileage, and verify that the tyre pressures hold steady. Inspect the high‑voltage battery pack for any bulging cells, coolant leaks around the thermal‑management system and the condition of the charging inlet; a healthy EV battery should retain at least 80 % of its original capacity after two years, so a diagnostic read‑out of state‑of‑charge and health is advisable. Check the 12 V auxiliary battery for corrosion on terminals and confirm that it holds charge, as a weak auxiliary battery can affect electronic controls and start‑up reliability. Finally, review the mechanical and structural elements that are not directly related to the electric powertrain. Look for any signs of corrosion on the chassis, especially around the wheel arches and suspension mounting points, and verify that the coil springs, dampers and suspension bushes are free of excessive play or audible clunks when the car is rocked. Inspect the brake discs and pads for uneven wear, surface glazing or rust that could impair braking performance, and ensure the calipers move freely without binding. Confirm that all exterior lighting, wipers and HVAC components operate correctly, and ask for evidence that the vehicle has received the required software updates from Vauxhall, as these can affect range, charging behaviour and overall safety. A thorough, independent mechanical appraisal will provide the confidence needed to proceed with the purchase.
