2010 Renault Megane 2.0L Petrol · SD10 FYN

This vehicle demonstrates a remarkably stable record of roadworthiness, having secured five consecutive clean MOT passes without a single defect or advisory recorded since September 2021. The most recent certification on 10 July 2025 confirms a continuing trend of mechanical integrity, suggesting that the primary structural and safety components have remained within DVSA limits without the typical degradation seen in vehicles of this vintage. With a recorded mileage of 74,764 miles over sixteen years, the vehicle has averaged approximately 4,673 miles per annum. This low annual accumulation indicates a usage profile far below the national average, which typically results in reduced wear on the drivetrain, engine internals, and interior trim. Such a history suggests the mechanical components have been subjected to significantly less stress than a high-mileage equivalent, provided the vehicle has not suffered from extended periods of inactivity. Given the total absence of advisories regarding corrosion or suspension wear in the official history, a physical inspection should focus on confirming this clean record. Particular attention should be paid to the underside of the chassis and the wheel arches to ensure no surface corrosion has developed that was not deemed significant enough for a DVSA entry. Verifying the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs through a visual check will confirm that the vehicle's physical state aligns with the flawless testing history. During a test drive, the focus should be on ensuring the low-mileage components are operating smoothly. Listen for any abnormal knocks or clunks over uneven surfaces, which would contradict the clean MOT record regarding suspension linkages. Additionally, check for a consistent brake pedal feel and the absence of any steering pull or judder, ensuring that the braking system and steering rack remain in the optimal condition indicated by the recent pass on 10 July 2025.
