2006 BMW 730 3.0L Diesel · SE06 PJU

The vehicle presents a stable maintenance profile with a clean MOT record over the last two years. The most recent test on 7 March 2024 at 244,866 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of successful inspections since late 2020, suggesting that the vehicle has been kept in a roadworthy condition without recurring mechanical or structural failures. The mileage accumulation is significant, averaging approximately 12,243 miles per year over the recorded period. The jump from 228,464 miles in October 2021 to 235,500 miles in March 2023 indicates steady, regular usage rather than long periods of inactivity. While the total mileage of 244,866 is high for a 20-year-old vehicle, the consistent testing intervals suggest the car has been driven frequently enough to warrant regular inspections. A buyer should focus on high-wear components typical for a high-mileage luxury saloon. Given the heavy usage, the suspension bushes, coil springs, and drive shafts should be checked for play or perished rubber. The brake system, specifically the discs and calipers, requires a physical inspection to ensure no binding or excessive thinning has occurred, despite the clean MOT history. The single failure recorded on 9 October 2020 at 224,261 miles shows the vehicle was capable of failing, though the record does not specify the defect. Because the car has since passed multiple tests without advisories, the owner has likely addressed any previous issues. However, at this mileage, a thorough inspection of the engine gaskets, cooling system, and underbody corrosion is essential to ensure long-term reliability.
