2004 Toyota Corolla 1.6L Petrol · SL04 UOR

This Toyota Corolla presents a stable and exceptionally clean roadworthiness profile. The most recent MOT on 9 December 2024 at 89,385 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. This follows a consistent pattern of clean passes dating back to 2021, suggesting a vehicle that has been maintained to a high standard or has suffered very little mechanical degradation. The mileage is remarkably low for a twenty-two year old vehicle, averaging roughly 4,063 miles per year. The distance covered between tests has remained steady and low, with only 1,233 miles added between December 2023 and December 2024. This low usage pattern typically reduces wear on the drivetrain and interior, though it can sometimes mask issues related to long periods of inactivity. The MOT history is unusually sparse regarding defects. A failure on 6 December 2021 at 85,612 miles was resolved within five days, though the record does not specify the fault. Since then, the vehicle has passed four consecutive tests without a single advisory for tyre tread, brake wear, or suspension components. This lack of advisories is rare for a car of this vintage. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on areas the MOT test may overlook or that deteriorate regardless of mileage. Specifically, check for structural corrosion on the sills and chassis, as older Japanese models are prone to rust in damp climates. Inspect the rubber components, such as suspension bushes and tyre sidewalls, for perishing or cracking caused by age rather than use. Verify the condition of the brake fluid and coolant to ensure the low-mileage owner adhered to a time-based service schedule.
