2008 Honda CB600 0.6L Petrol · SM08 BYX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, evidenced by the clean MOT pass recorded on 22 May 2026 at 16,444 miles. This recent result follows a period of consistent passing, indicating that previous mechanical issues have been addressed. The overall maintenance trend appears positive, as the motorcycle has cleared its last three inspections without any recorded defects or advisories, suggesting effective mechanical upkeep. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for an eighteen-year-old motorcycle, averaging fewer than 914 miles per year. Data shows a significant usage gap between May 2020 and May 2026, during which the vehicle covered only 15 miles. This pattern suggests the bike spent long periods in storage or was used very sparingly. While low mileage reduces wear on the drivetrain and engine components, it often introduces risks related to rubber degradation, fluid breakdown, and internal corrosion that occurs when a vehicle remains stationary. A buyer must physically inspect the front suspension, noting the failure in April 2019 at 16,117 miles due to a serious fluid leak in the front shock absorber. While subsequent tests passed, the inspector should ensure the seals have not perished during the periods of inactivity. Given the low usage, close attention is required for flat-spotting on tyres, perished hoses, and seized brake calipers which common with age rather than mileage. Checking the structural integrity of the frame for surface rust is also essential to ensure long-term storage has not compromised the metal.
