2002 Renault Clio 1.1L Petrol · SP52 AEL

The vehicle presents a stable maintenance profile based on the available MOT history. The most recent test on 6 December 2023 at 102,819 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a clean pass on 7 December 2022 at 95,033 miles, indicating that the vehicle has met the minimum legal requirements for roadworthiness without any flagged issues regarding structural integrity or mechanical components during these inspections. The mileage accumulation appears remarkably low for a 24-year-old vehicle. The data shows a progression from 95,033 miles in December 2022 to 102,819 miles in December 2023, representing an annual usage of approximately 7,786 miles. This sits slightly higher than the lifetime average of 4,284 miles per year suggested by the total odometer reading, but remains well below typical UK motorway-driven averages. This pattern suggests the car has seen consistent, light use rather than long periods of stationary storage. While the MOT record is clean, the low annual mileage can sometimes lead to overlooked maintenance on components that degrade through age rather than distance. A buyer should conduct a physical inspection of rubber components, specifically suspension bushes and engine mounts, which may show signs of perishing or cracking despite the low mileage. The lack of advisories regarding brake discs or binding calipers is positive, but the age of the vehicle necessitates a close check for surface corrosion on the underside and exhaust system. Given the age of the vehicle, the absence of recorded failures is encouraging. However, the inspector should verify that all consumables such as tyres, wiper blades, and brake pads have been replaced according to service intervals rather than just MOT requirements. Checking for any signs of fluid leaks or suspension wear will be essential to confirm that the vehicle's mechanical condition matches the clean regulatory record.
