2016 Volkswagen Passat 2.0L Diesel · ST66 WDW

A consistent record of clean MOT results over the last five years defines this vehicle's documented roadworthiness, with the most recent test on 19 November 2025 showing no defects. This trend of passing consecutive annual inspections without recorded failures or advisories suggests a period of stable mechanical compliance regarding the items inspected under the MOT testing regime. There are no recorded instances of structural corrosion, exhaust emissions failures, or lighting defects within the provided history. The vehicle has covered 88,958 miles over its ten-year lifespan, representing an average annual accumulation of approximately 8,896 miles. This usage pattern is consistent with typical UK driving profiles for a vehicle of this age. Mechanically, this level of mileage suggests that while the vehicle has not been subjected to heavy commercial or high-intensity motorway use, the standard wear and tear on consumable components such as brake pads, discs, and suspension bushes would be expected in line with this distance. Because the MOT history contains no recorded advisories for components such as suspension linkages, brake pipes, or tyre tread, there are no specific mechanical warnings to act upon from the official record. However, given the mileage and age, a physical inspection should focus on checking for any signs of fluid leaks from the engine or gearbox, as well as inspecting the condition of the subframe and suspension components for any emerging corrosion that has not yet reached a failure threshold. During a test drive, pay close attention to the tactile feedback through the steering and the brake pedal. Listen for any rhythmic knocking or clunking sounds from the front or rear suspension when traversing uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn bushes or dampers. Additionally, check for any pulling to one side under braking or any vibration through the steering wheel, which would be indicative of uneven brake disc wear or caliper issues, despite the absence of these defects in the recent DVSA data.
