2012 Ford Mondeo 2.0L Diesel · SV12 AEB

This Ford Mondeo presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent record of passing its MOT tests. The most recent inspection on 23 July 2025 at 157,254 miles resulted in a clean pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This indicates the vehicle currently meets the minimum legal safety and environmental standards. The mileage accumulation is typical for a 14 year old vehicle, averaging roughly 11,232 miles per year. There was a notable increase in usage between July 2023 and June 2024, where the odometer rose from 116,188 to 135,162 miles. A further 22,082 miles were covered in the year leading up to the July 2025 test. This steady increase suggests the car has been used regularly rather than left to stand, which generally helps prevent seals from perishing and brakes from seizing. The absence of advisories across the last four years is unusual for a vehicle of this age and mileage. Most cars this old typically show wear on suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake discs. The record shows a failure and immediate pass on 18 June 2024, though the specific reason for the failure was not detailed in the provided data. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on common Mondeo weak points that MOT tests sometimes overlook. Check the chassis and sills for hidden corrosion and inspect the condition of the engine mounts and gearbox mounts. Given the high mileage, a manual check of the service history is necessary to verify that the timing belt and water pump have been replaced according to the manufacturer's intervals, as these are critical components not covered by a standard MOT check.
