2015 BMW 420 2.0L Diesel · V1 RSD

The vehicle maintains a high standard of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistent history of clean passes. The most recent test on 20 January 2026 at 82,120 miles returned no defects, indicating that the primary mechanical and structural components currently meet UK safety standards. This stability suggests a proactive maintenance approach where the previous owners avoided accumulating significant advisory notices or recurring mechanical failures over the last five years. The mileage pattern reveals a significant shift in usage during the later years. Between April 2022 and January 2023, the car covered only 347 miles, which is exceptionally low for a vehicle of this age and suggests minimal use or an extended period of storage. However, usage increased sharply after early 2023, with the vehicle covering 74,238 miles between the January 2023 and January 2026 tests. While the average of roughly 7,465 miles per year is typical for an eleven-year-old BMW, the recent surge in mileage may have accelerated wear on rubber-based components and suspension bushings. Because the MOT record shows no historical advisories for structural rust or brake components, a buyer should still perform a physical inspection of the undercarriage for signs of surface corrosion. Focus on checking the condition of the control arm bushings and shocks, as the recent increase in annual mileage puts stress on these parts. Given the clean history, verifying the service history against the mileage for oil and fluid changes is essential to ensure the engine has transitioned well to this higher workload without internal degradation.
