2010 Volkswagen Touran 2.0L Diesel · VE10 FOJ

The most recent MOT on 2026-02-27 recorded four issues: offside front suspension arm pin/bush wear, rear coil spring corrosion, thin front brake pads, and a tyre worn close to the legal limit. These align with recurring patterns seen in prior MOTs, indicating ongoing mechanical wear rather than sudden deterioration. Suspension components have consistently shown signs of wear since 2021, including bush wear, coil spring corrosion, and anti-roll bar play. These issues have not escalated in severity but remain persistent, suggesting gradual degradation rather than acute failure. Brake pad thinning in 2026 highlights the need for regular inspection, as this is a safety-critical component. The vehicle’s mileage of 120,669 miles for a 16-year-old car is average, implying moderate use without extreme under-use or heavy wear. However, the repeated corrosion on rear coil springs raises questions about environmental exposure or maintenance history, which could accelerate component failure. The trend in defects appears stable, with no new critical issues in the latest MOT. However, the persistence of suspension and brake-related defects indicates the vehicle may require ongoing maintenance. Buyers should prioritize checking the suspension system for further bush or arm wear, inspecting brake pads and rotors, and assessing tyre condition.
