2017 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0L Diesel · VK17 DPO

The vehicle's roadworthiness is currently passed, though the MOT history reveals a clear deterioration in condition. The most recent test on 2026-03-25 at 82,817 miles was passed with no defects, but this is followed by two consecutive failures in 2025 and 2024, indicating a progressive decline in mechanical health over the past three years. The maintenance trend is not stable or improving; rather, it is worsening, with the vehicle failing twice within a short timeframe. This rapid loss of functionality suggests that basic upkeep was likely skipped during the ownership period, leading to accelerated wear on critical components such as the suspension and drivetrain. The rapid mileage accumulation since the last successful test in March 2025 indicates that the vehicle is approaching the limits of safe operation, even though the initial test passed. A buyer must inspect the vehicle personally to assess the condition of the suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components, as the history shows signs of structural rust and binding calipers. The vehicle has not been serviced in a way that would prevent these issues from developing, and the lack of documented maintenance history means the risk of future failures is high. If the buyer proceeds, they must be prepared to perform a full inspection and potentially replace major parts before the vehicle reaches a safety hazard.
