2018 Yamaha MT-07 ABS 0.7L Petrol · VU18 ABK

The 2018 Yamaha MT-07 ABS demonstrates stable roadworthiness based on its MOT history, with the most recent 2026-03-19 test at 26,172 miles confirming no defects. All prior tests from 2021 to 2024 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance. No recurring mechanical or structural concerns are evident from the records, and the vehicle has met legal standards throughout its operational life. The absence of advisories or failures suggests the previous owner prioritized basic upkeep, though low mileage may limit exposure to wear on certain components. The mileage progression shows irregular intervals between tests, with the bike accumulating 6,700 miles between 2021 and 2022, followed by 5,106 miles by 2023, 1,880 miles by 2024, and 1,681 miles since. This pattern implies variable usage, potentially including periods of inactivity. At 26,172 miles over eight years, the average of 3,272 miles annually is below typical usage for a motorcycle of this age, which could indicate light riding or storage. While this reduces wear on consumables like tyres and brake pads, it may also lead to issues such as seized components or degraded fluids if not regularly ridden. A buyer should inspect for signs of corrosion, particularly in the frame and underbody, given the low mileage and potential for stagnant fluids. Suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers should be checked for binding or wear, as these can develop during inactivity. The exhaust system and emissions components, though not flagged in MOTs, warrant scrutiny for hidden damage. No structural rust or major mechanical faults are documented, but physical inspection is essential to confirm the vehicle’s condition aligns with its MOT history.
