2018 Vauxhall Grandland 1.6L Diesel · VU18 AAX

A history of clean recent testing follows a period of minor mechanical wear noted in early 2023, suggesting a recent trend of stable roadworthiness. The vehicle most recently passed its MOT on 19 February 2026 without any recorded defects, mirroring a clean result from 26 February 2025. This follows a 2023 test that flagged specific issues regarding tyre tread depth and suspension component play, though these items do not appear to have recurred in the subsequent two annual inspections. The vehicle has covered 75,718 miles over its eight-year lifespan, representing an average annual accumulation of approximately 9,465 miles. This usage pattern is consistent with typical UK driving profiles for a vehicle of this age. From a mechanical perspective, this level of mileage suggests that while the vehicle has not been subjected to heavy long-distance motorway use, the components have undergone a standard amount of wear and tear consistent with regular, moderate utility. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the suspension and tyre condition, given the advisories recorded in 2023. Although the most recent tests were clear, the previous mention of slight play in the offside front anti-roll bar linkage ball joint warrants a physical inspection. During a test drive, listen for any rhythmic knocking or clunking sounds when navigating uneven road surfaces or speed bumps, as this can indicate continued wear in the suspension linkages or bushes. Regarding the tyres, the 2023 advisories for both offside and nearside rear tyres being worn close to the legal limit or worn on the edges suggest a need to monitor tread patterns and alignment. On a test drive, check for any noticeable steering pull to one side or uneven wear across the tread surface, which could indicate underlying geometry issues. While the 2022 failure regarding headlamp aim was resolved, ensuring the headlight beam pattern is correctly levelled and does not dazzle oncoming traffic remains a standard part of the visual inspection.
