2015 BMW 116 1.5L Diesel · WG15 ACU

The vehicle demonstrates a stable roadworthiness trend, with the most recent 2026-01-16 MOT at 54,647 miles recording a pass and no defects. Previous tests from 2025-01-31 (45,525 miles) and 2024-06-26 (40,792 miles) also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance. However, a failed test on 2024-06-26 at 40,790 miles—despite no recorded defects—suggests potential inconsistencies in testing or unreported concerns. The absence of advisories or critical failures in later tests implies no urgent mechanical risks, but the repeated lack of defects may mask underlying wear. The vehicle’s mileage of 54,647 miles over 11 years equates to approximately 4,968 miles annually, significantly below the UK average for its age. This low usage could indicate infrequent operation or prolonged periods of inactivity, which may affect components like the battery, brakes, or suspension. Notably, a 12-month gap between the 2023-06-01 test (31,413 miles) and the next at 40,792 miles in 2024-06-26 raises questions about maintenance continuity. Such intervals may allow corrosion, fluid degradation, or rubber component aging to progress unnoticed. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low mileage can sometimes obscure gradual wear. The brake system, particularly rear calipers and discs, warrants scrutiny given the failed test’s unexplained nature. Structural integrity should also be verified, as prolonged inactivity may lead to hidden rust or panel corrosion. While the MOT history shows no critical failures, the sparse data and long intervals between tests advise a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm the vehicle’s condition aligns with its recorded maintenance.
