2012 Mercedes-Benz C 2.1L Diesel · WJ12 AEY

The vehicle presents a high level of roadworthiness with a remarkably stable maintenance trend over the last five years. The most recent MOT conducted on 19 June 2025 at 174,569 miles passed with zero defects or advisories recorded. This suggests that the previous owner has been proactive in addressing potential issues before they reached a failure threshold, resulting in a clean record across five consecutive annual inspections. The mileage pattern indicates consistent and high-intensity use, averaging approximately 12,500 miles per year. A significant spike in usage is evident between May 2022 and May 2023, where the vehicle covered 33,000 miles in just thirteen months. Since then, usage has returned to a more steady pace, with 8,000 miles recorded in the 2024 test and 8,027 miles leading into 2025. This high mileage suggests long-distance motorway driving, which often results in less mechanical strain on engine components compared to short-trip city driving. Despite the clean MOT history, the high mileage necessitates a thorough physical inspection of components subject to mechanical wear and tear. A buyer should examine the condition of the suspension bushings, coil springs, and shock absorbers, as these often degrade after 150,000 miles. Close attention should also be paid to signs of corrosion on the exhaust system and the condition of the brake discs to ensure no accelerated thinning is occurring. Given the vehicle's age and distance, verifying the integrity of the drivetrain and checking for fluid leaks is essential to ensure the high-mile use has not masked underlying mechanical fatigue.
