2006 Nissan Note 1.4L Petrol · WN06 HTZ

An exceptional record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, which has maintained a clean bill of health without a single recorded defect or advisory across several consecutive years. This stability is evidenced by the most recent pass on 11 February 2026, suggesting a mechanical condition that is remarkably consistent for a car of this vintage. The absence of recurring failures indicates that the vehicle has not suffered from the chronic corrosion or systemic suspension degradation often found in hatchbacks of this era. The recorded mileage of 119,530 miles is low for a twenty-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,976 miles per year. This usage pattern suggests the car has likely been employed for short-distance urban commuting or has experienced periods of limited use. Mechanically, this profile typically results in less wear on the engine internals and drivetrain components compared to high-mileage examples, although it can place different stresses on the charging system and engine lubrication cycles due to fewer long-distance runs. Given the lack of specific defects in the DVSA history, the physical inspection should focus on age-related degradation of rubber and steel components that may not yet have reached a failure threshold. Particular attention should be paid to the condition of the suspension bushes and coil springs. During the test drive, listen for any knocking or clunking sounds when traversing uneven road surfaces or during low-speed manoeuvring, as these are primary indicators of worn suspension linkages. Assess the brake pedal for any judder or sponginess and ensure the handbrake holds the vehicle securely on an incline to rule out binding calipers or stretched cables. While the MOT record is clean, a visual inspection of the subframe and wheel arches is advisable to check for any emerging surface corrosion. Finally, verify that the gear transitions are smooth and that there are no unusual vibrations transmitted through the steering wheel at cruising speeds.
