2021 Volkswagen Golf Life TSI 1.5L Petrol · WU71 BNZ

The Volkswagen Golf Life TSI demonstrates a stable roadworthiness trend over the past two MOT cycles, with both tests—conducted on 20 September 2024 at 40,399 miles and 9 May 2025 at 49,116 miles—resulting in clean passes without any defects or advisories. This consistency suggests the vehicle has been maintained at a basic level, though the absence of recorded issues does not preclude hidden wear. The most recent test, just over two years ago, aligns with the DVSA’s biennial MOT interval for this model, meaning no overdue or deferred tests are present. However, the lack of advisory notes or defect history means critical components like suspension bushes, coil springs, or brake binding conditions have not been explicitly cleared by a tester. Buyers should treat this as a baseline rather than a guarantee of current condition. The recorded mileage progression of 8,717 miles between tests indicates typical usage for a five-year-old vehicle, though the annual average of approximately 9,823 miles suggests moderate but not excessive wear on high-usage components. There are no evident gaps or rapid mileage spikes in the available data, which would otherwise raise concerns about neglect or aggressive driving. The absence of a pre-MOT service record or additional mileage markers means the true maintenance history remains speculative, but the steady accumulation implies the vehicle has not been left unused or stored for prolonged periods. Given the clean MOT history, the primary focus for an in-person inspection should centre on suspension integrity and brake condition. The tester’s silence on rear brake binding or uneven wear in 2024 and 2025 does not rule out developing issues—calipers, pads, or rotor warping could have emerged since the last test. Suspension bushes, particularly at the rear, may show early fatigue given the mileage, while coil springs should be checked for corrosion or cracks. Structural corrosion, though less likely on a five-year-old model, warrants inspection around wheel arches, sills, and the subframe, especially if the vehicle has seen wet or salty conditions. Tyre tread depth, though not flagged, should be verified as failing twice on this criterion would indicate basic upkeep was overlooked.
