2017 Skoda Superb 2.0L Diesel · YA17 DVY

The most recent MOT, conducted on 4 March 2026 at 78 884 miles, passed without defects. The preceding test, two days earlier at 78 859 miles, failed but recorded no defects, suggesting a procedural anomaly rather than a mechanical issue. Across the five recorded tests spanning 2024 to 2026, the vehicle has shown a stable maintenance trend, with no recurring faults noted. The car has accumulated 78 884 miles over roughly nine years, averaging 8 765 miles per annum, which aligns with typical usage for a vehicle of this age. The mileage increments between tests are consistent: a 9 714‑mile rise from 60 135 to 69 849 between 4 March 2024 and 28 February 2025, and a 9 035‑mile increase to 78 884 by 4 March 2026. No sudden spikes or gaps suggestive of neglect are evident. A prospective buyer should verify the condition of consumables that naturally wear over time. Inspect tyre tread depth, sidewall integrity, and tread wear patterns to confirm regular replacement. Examine brake discs and pads for uneven wear or glazing, and check the brake calipers for binding or leakage. Evaluate the suspension by probing the coil springs, shock absorbers, and bushings for sag or cracking. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks, corrosion, or loose connections. Assess the vehicle’s body and chassis for rust, especially around wheel arches, door sills, and the undercarriage, as corrosion can compromise structural integrity. Although the MOT record shows no defects, the absence of recorded faults does not preclude latent issues. A thorough visual and functional inspection of the drivetrain, engine bay, and electrical components is advisable. Confirm that the battery is fully charged, the coolant level is adequate, and that the engine oil and filter show no contamination. Pay particular attention to any signs of fluid leaks, unusual noises, or vibration that could indicate underlying problems not captured in the MOT.
