2014 Toyota Avensis 2.0L Diesel · YB14 BWX

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile, evidenced by a consistent history of MOT passes. The most recent test on 7 November 2025 at 117,091 miles resulted in a pass with no defects recorded. Despite a technical failure noted just four miles prior on the same day, the lack of recorded defects suggests either an administrative error or a minor sensor fault that was rectified immediately. Since this anomaly, the Avensis has maintained a clean record across multiple annual testing cycles. The mileage pattern is consistent with typical UK usage for a vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 9,758 miles per year. The data shows steady progression, with 11,370 miles covered between January 2023 and January 2024, and another 10,604 miles between January 2024 and January 2025. This regular interval indicates the car is used consistently, which is beneficial for preventing engine seals and brake components from seizing during long periods of standing. The lack of significant gaps in mileage suggests the vehicle has not been subjected to neglect or long-term storage. While the MOT record is remarkably clean, a buyer should focus their physical inspection on components that are not fully detailed during annual testing. At over 117,000 miles, you must inspect the control arm bushes and coil springs for signs of fatigue or cracking, as these often wear out at this mileage. You should also check the brake calipers for any binding or uneven wear and ensure the discs are not excessively worn. Given the vehicle's age, a close look at the underside for structural corrosion on the sills is necessary to ensure no hidden rust issues are developing beyond what the tester might have flagged.
