2015 Mercedes-Benz V 2.1L Diesel · YN65 HCH

The most recent MOT test conducted on 6 July 2026 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This indicates that the vehicle was in a roadworthy condition at the time of inspection, meeting all necessary safety and environmental criteria. Based on this recent clean result, the maintenance trend appears stable, suggesting that the vehicle has not been subject to the typical mechanical or structural failures often associated with its age. The recorded mileage of 63,745 miles over an eleven-year period represents a relatively low annual usage rate of approximately 5,800 miles. This pattern suggests the vehicle has seen lighter duty than many similar Mercedes-Benz models, which often serve high-mileage commercial or shuttle roles. While this reduces the mechanical wear on the engine, transmission, and drivetrain, it is important to consider the implications of infrequent use. Low-mileage vehicles can sometimes experience different forms of degradation, such as the settling of components or the degradation of fluids and seals due to a lack of regular thermal cycling. Given the clean MOT history and low mileage, your physical inspection should prioritise age-related deterioration over heavy wear. Examine the tyres thoroughly for signs of perishing, such as sidewall cracking or fine cracks in the tread grooves, which can occur as rubber ages regardless of tread depth. Check the brake discs for excessive corrosion or pitting, which is common in vehicles that have been stationary, and listen for any signs of binding calipers or uneven braking during your test drive. It is also vital to confirm that the service history includes time-based maintenance, as engine oil, coolant, and brake fluid should be replaced according to the manufacturer's calendar intervals to prevent moisture contamination and chemical breakdown. Additionally, you should assess the condition of the 12V battery, as infrequent driving can lead to capacity loss or sulphation. Inspect the suspension system, specifically the bushes and coil springs, for any signs of perished rubber or unevenness that might indicate the vehicle has spent significant time standing. Finally, check for any evidence of fluid leaks from seals or gaskets that may have dried out due to inactivity, and ensure all electrical systems and climate controls are functioning correctly to rule out moisture-related issues in the wiring or control modules.
