2003 Honda Civic 2.0L Petrol · YT03 ABN

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile with a consistent history of passes over the last several years. The most recent test on 3 December 2024 at 75,905 miles resulted in no recorded defects, following a curious failure exactly one day prior at 75,904 miles. This specific sequence suggests a minor administrative error or a trivial consumable fault that was rectified immediately, as the overall trend indicates the vehicle is being maintained to meet DVSA standards. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 23-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 3,300 miles per year. Between November 2021 at 69,190 miles and December 2024 at 75,905 miles, the car covered only 6,715 miles. While this low usage typically reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine, long periods of standing can lead to the degradation of rubber-based components and fluid breakdown. The consistency of the annual testing suggests the vehicle has remained in regular use rather than sitting for years at a time. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the chassis, as high-age Honda Civics are prone to corrosion in the sills and rear wheel arches. Despite the clean MOT record, the low mileage increases the likelihood that suspension bushes and tyres have perished due to age rather than wear. Inspect the brake system for signs of pitting or seized calipers, as low-use vehicles often suffer from oxidation on braking components. While the MOT data shows no recurring mechanical failures, the age of the vehicle remains the primary risk factor for material-related degradation.
