2003 Nissan Navara 2.5L Diesel · YT03 AHK

The 2003 Nissan Navara exhibits a stable roadworthiness trend, with no defects recorded in its last five consecutive MOT tests, including the most recent 2025-04-23 assessment at 74,615 miles. All tests from 2021 to 2025 show consistent compliance, indicating reliable maintenance practices by previous owners. No advisories or failures suggest critical mechanical or structural issues, though the absence of recorded defects does not preclude latent concerns requiring further inspection. The vehicle’s mileage of 74,615 miles over 23 years equates to an average of 3,244 miles annually, significantly lower than typical usage. This pattern implies either infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can accelerate wear on components like rubber seals, battery health, and engine internals. Notably, the 2021-04-10 test at 59,795 miles showed a 3,894-mile gap to the 2022-04-30 test, raising questions about potential storage or seasonal usage. The lack of rapid mileage spikes or irregularities in the record suggests controlled operation, though low usage may mask hidden deterioration. A buyer should prioritize inspecting the exhaust system for corrosion, as age and inactivity can compromise pipes and mounts. Suspension components, including coil springs and bushes, warrant scrutiny for fatigue or sagging, as these are not assessed in MOTs. Body panels, particularly under the chassis, should be checked for rust, given the vehicle’s vintage. While the MOT history shows no immediate risks, the combination of low mileage and age necessitates a thorough pre-purchase examination of non-MOT elements to confirm long-term reliability.
