1983 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 5.3L Petrol · 1 RKO

The vehicle maintains a stable roadworthiness status with a clean record of consecutive passes over the last decade. The most recent test conducted on 11 November 2022 at 49,702 miles returned no defects or advisories. This consistency suggests a high level of preservation and a maintenance standard that meets the minimum requirements for road use without recurring mechanical or structural failures being flagged by the MOT testing equipment. The mileage pattern is exceptionally low for a 43-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 1,156 miles per year. Between July 2014 and August 2015, the car covered only 131 miles, indicating long periods of storage or very limited use. A significant five-year gap between the April 2017 and November 2022 tests shows the vehicle covered only 18 miles. While this low mileage reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine components, such infrequent use often leads to degradation of rubber-based parts, fluid oxidation, and dry seals that an MOT test cannot fully detect. A buyer must prioritize a physical inspection of components that suffer from age rather than just mileage. Since the record shows no advisories, the inspector should specifically check for structural corrosion in the chassis sills, perished suspension bushes, and degraded brake lines caused by prolonged inactivity. The braking system should be tested for seized calipers or rusted discs resulting from long periods of standing stationary. Given that the last test was over three years ago, the state of the fluids and the integrity of the tyres compound are critical to ensure the vehicle is safe for immediate operation.
