2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.3L Petrol · 71 PB

This Aston Martin V8 Vantage presents an exceptionally clean mechanical record, characterized by a total absence of defects or advisories across its most recent testing cycle. This stability is evidenced by three consecutive clean passes, including the most recent inspection on 2025-07-23, indicating a vehicle that has remained consistently roadworthy without the recurring failures often associated with high-performance cars of this era. With a recorded mileage of 48,993 miles, the vehicle has averaged approximately 2,450 miles per year over its twenty-year lifespan. This low annual accumulation suggests the car has been used sparingly, which typically results in minimal wear on the engine internals, gearbox, and clutch assembly. However, such a usage profile means the mechanical condition is more likely to be influenced by the effects of standing and the natural degradation of rubber components rather than high-mileage friction wear. Given the absence of flagged suspension or braking defects in the MOT history, the test drive should focus on verifying that the physical condition matches the paperwork. Listen for any unusual knocks or clunks from the suspension bushes or coil springs when navigating uneven road surfaces, as these components can perish over time regardless of low mileage. Ensure there is no steering pull or vibration through the wheel that could indicate suspension misalignment or tyre deformation from long periods of inactivity. Pay close attention to the brake pedal feel to ensure there is no binding in the calipers, which can occur in low-usage performance vehicles. During a post-drive inspection, check for any oil misting or leaks around the engine bay and gearbox to confirm the continued integrity of the seals. While the lack of recorded exhaust emissions failures suggests the engine is functioning correctly, a steady idle and smooth power delivery across the rev range should be confirmed to ensure the fuel system has remained healthy.
