2016 MINI Cooper 1.5L Diesel · AJ03 DRJ

The 2016 MINI Cooper presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 15 September 2025 at 55,470 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken sequence of clean MOT results since at least 2021. No advisories or mechanical faults appear anywhere in the five-year record, which indicates the vehicle has not required corrective work at any official test. Annual mileage has remained low against the car's ten-year age. The tester logged 23,473 miles on 13 September 2021, rising to 24,628 by 8 September 2022, then 28,540 on 5 September 2023, 42,730 on 12 September 2024, and 55,470 on 15 September 2025. That equates to roughly 5,500 miles per year overall, with the largest single-year jump of 14,190 miles occurring between the 2023 and 2024 tests. The sparse, fault-free history gives no evidence of neglected consumables or deferred repairs. A clean MOT slate does not certify component condition, only that tested items met the pass threshold on the day. The buyer should still inspect suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs for age-related fatigue, since low-use cars often sit and develop corrosion or perished rubber unseen by the annual test. Check the exhaust system and underbody for structural rust given the vehicle's standing periods. Verify the service history independently and confirm cambelt or chain interval work if applicable to the B38 engine. Tyres, wiper blades, and fluid condition warrant a visual check despite no advisories being raised. The record implies a carefully kept, lightly driven example, but physical inspection remains essential before purchase.
