2011 Volvo XC90 2.4L Diesel · AJ11 SWW

The 2011 Volvo XC90 presents a stable and reassuring roadworthiness profile. The most recent test on 12 December 2025 at 135,873 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, continuing an unbroken five-year sequence of clean MOT results. The maintenance trend shows no worsening faults, advisories, or recurring mechanical concerns across the available history. Mileage has accumulated at a typical rate for a 15-year-old vehicle, averaging roughly 9,058 miles per year. The record shows 97,039 miles at the 24 December 2021 test, rising to 104,781 by 14 December 2022, 116,371 on 11 December 2023, 128,600 on 2 January 2025, and 135,873 by December 2025. Annual increments stay consistent at around 8,000 to 12,000 miles with no sudden jumps or dormant gaps that would imply prolonged standing or neglected use. The absence of any flagged items means the tester recorded no worn suspension bushes, corroded structural members, binding calipers, or exhaust emission failures at any stage. A clean sheet across five tests suggests the previous owners kept basic consumables and mechanical items within legal limits. Still, a buyer should not treat a fault-free MOT as proof of condition beneath the surface. In person, inspect the XC90 for underbody corrosion around chassis rails and subframe mounts, check front and rear coil springs for fractures, and verify brake disc thickness and tyre sidewall cracking given the vehicle's age. Confirm service history covers timing belt and haldex coupling intervals. The MOT alone cannot expose worn drivetrain components or impending suspension fatigue on a 135,000-mile Volvo.
