2016 Honda CR-V 1.6L Diesel · BV03 BEX

A pattern of relatively stable roadworthiness characterizes this vehicle, with the most recent MOT passed on 2026-04-20 showing only a single advisory regarding perishing or cracked rear tyres. The inspection history reveals a consistent ability to meet minimum standards, as the vehicle has secured consecutive passes since 2019 without any recorded failures. While the record is largely free of major structural or mechanical defects, there is a discernible trend of wear-related advisories concerning braking components and tyre condition, which suggests a gradual accumulation of consumable wear rather than sudden mechanical breakdown. The recorded mileage of 102,257 miles over a ten-year period indicates an annual average of approximately 10,226 miles. This usage profile is consistent with typical UK driving patterns for a vehicle of this age and suggests a steady rate of mechanical attrition. From an inspection standpoint, this level of mileage means that components such as suspension bushes, dampers, and various rubber seals are likely approaching the end of their typical service life, even if they have not yet triggered a failure during the annual MOT inspections. Prospective buyers should pay close attention to the braking system and tyre integrity during a physical inspection and test drive. Previous advisories in 2021 and 2022 specifically flagged worn brake discs on the front axle and thinning brake pads on the rear axle. It is essential to check for any signs of pedal judder, which could indicate warped discs, or any unusual squealing or grinding noises during braking that might suggest the pads have reached the end of their effective life. Given the most recent advisory regarding damaged or cracking rear tyres, the sidewalls and tread depth of the rear tyres should be closely examined for signs of age-related degradation or structural weakness. Beyond the braking and tyre components, the consistent mileage suggests that a thorough check of the suspension and drivetrain is warranted. While no specific suspension defects were recorded, the cumulative mileage justifies a test drive focused on detecting any knocks, clunks, or vibrations when traversing uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn ball joints or control arm bushes. Additionally, checking for any evidence of fluid leaks around the engine and transmission would be a prudent measure to ensure that the steady usage has not resulted in seal degradation.
