2018 Volkswagen Golf 2.0L Petrol · C12 CAK

The 2018 Volkswagen Golf presents a clean roadworthiness status with a stable maintenance trend across its recorded history. In the most recent test on 16 February 2026 at 53,595 miles, the DVSA examiner passed the vehicle with no defects or advisories logged. Prior annual examinations from March 2022 through March 2025 similarly returned passes with zero faults, confirming a consistent absence of mechanical or structural issues. Mileage accumulation aligns with typical use for an eight-year-old hatchback. The odometer advanced from 34,790 miles at the 11 March 2022 test to 41,874 miles by 10 March 2023, then 45,628 miles in March 2024, 50,293 miles in March 2025, and 53,595 miles in February 2026. This equates to roughly 4,700 to 5,000 miles added each year, below the average 6,699 miles per annum implied by the total, indicating light but regular running rather than prolonged standing or rapid wear. The unbroken sequence of on-time tests with no gaps reflects disciplined owner compliance with statutory inspection. Previous keepers clearly prioritised scheduled maintenance; passing five consecutive MOTs without a single advisory suggests basic consumables such as tyres, wiper blades, and brake pads were renewed before thresholds breached. The MOT history reveals no recurring faults across suspension bushes, coil springs, brake calipers, exhaust emissions, or structural corrosion categories. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection of brake disc thickness, suspension bush condition, and underbody integrity, as MOT snapshots cannot capture incremental wear between tests.
