2019 KIA Sportage 1.6L Petrol · CB67 MCE

A consistent track record of clean MOT results defines this vehicle, with no recorded defects or advisories across its entire testing history from 2022 through to the most recent pass on 08 September 2025. This lack of recorded failures or even minor advisories regarding components like brake pads, tyres, or suspension bushes suggests a pattern of roadworthiness that has remained stable throughout its recent years of operation. The vehicle has covered 54,860 miles over approximately seven years, which equates to an average annual usage of roughly 7,837 miles. This represents a moderate and consistent usage profile, avoiding the potential mechanical issues associated with extreme high mileage or the degradation often seen in vehicles that remain stationary for extended periods. This level of mileage typically implies a steady wear rate on consumable items such as brake discs, pads, and suspension linkages, rather than the accelerated wear found in high-intensity long-distance vehicles. Given the absence of any recorded advisories for corrosion, oil leaks, or structural integrity issues, a test drive should focus on confirming that the mechanical components are performing as expected. While the MOT history shows no faults, you should listen for any rhythmic knocks or knocks from the suspension when driving over uneven surfaces, which could indicate wear in the shock absorbers or bushes that has not yet reached a failure threshold. Additionally, monitor the brake pedal for any sponginess or vibration under heavy braking to ensure the hydraulic system and discs are operating smoothly. Since there have been no recorded issues with emissions or exhaust systems, pay close attention to the engine's performance during acceleration and idling to ensure there is no excessive smoke or unusual noise. Check for any signs of fluid weeping around the engine bay or under the chassis, as the MOT is a snapshot in time and does not account for slow leaks that may have developed between testing intervals. The lack of recorded advisories for tyre wear or lighting suggests these systems are currently functional, but they should still be visually inspected for uneven tread wear or cracks.
