2016 Ford Transit 2.2L Diesel · CY65 GHF

The 2016 Ford Transit presents a stable roadworthiness trend, with the most recent test on 25 June 2025 at 214,442 miles returning a pass and no defects recorded. The maintenance history shows no recurring advisories or mechanical faults across the available record, indicating the vehicle has met minimum statutory standards consistently over the past four years. Annual mileage sits at roughly 21,444 miles, well above typical light-commercial averages for a ten-year-old van. The record charts steady accumulation: 149,176 miles at the 24 June 2022 test, 171,661 miles by 21 June 2023, 193,985 miles at 22 June 2024, and 214,442 miles at the 2025 renewal. The sole anomaly is a failed test on 21 June 2023 at 171,661 miles with no defects listed, immediately followed by a pass on the same day at identical mileage, suggesting an administrative or procedural rejection rather than a mechanical defect. Given the clean MOT trail and high annual use, a buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake disc wear, as these consumable items degrade silently between annual tests and the record offers no advisory trail to confirm their condition. Structural integrity around chassis rails and sills warrants close checks for corrosion, particularly given winter salting exposure over ten years of service. The absence of flagged faults implies previous owners kept the van to pass standard rather than addressing wear proactively. At 214,442 miles the drivetrain and turbocharger should receive oil-analysis or compression checks before purchase, since the MOT emissions pass does not reflect internal component fatigue.
