2004 Skoda Octavia 1.9L Diesel · DA04 UEL

The most recent MOT test on 11 November 2022 recorded a failure at 226,214 miles, with no defects listed by the tester. Prior to that, the vehicle passed on 17 November 2021 at 224,691 miles and failed two days earlier on 15 November 2021 at 224,690 miles, also with no defects logged. The record shows no advisories or mechanical faults across the three-year span, so the maintenance trend appears stable but the final failure leaves the current roadworthiness unconfirmed, as no subsequent test exists within the last three years. The odometer climbed from 224,690 miles in November 2021 to 226,214 miles by November 2022, a gain of just 1,524 miles in twelve months against a 22-year average of roughly 10,282 miles per year. That sharp drop in annual use suggests the car stood idle for long periods in its final recorded year. The sparse history, with only three tests and no listed defects, gives little insight into consumable wear or structural condition, though the two 2021 tests two days apart imply a quick retest after an administrative or unrecorded failure. A buyer must treat the 2022 failure as an open question. With no defects captured, the cause may be clerical or a present-vehicle fault the tester did not encode. Given the age and 226,214 miles, inspect suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs and calipers for binding or wear, and check structural integrity for corrosion beneath sills and subframes. Confirm a valid MOT and full service history before purchase. The Skoda's low recent mileage may hide degraded rubber components and seized mechanisms from standing, so a physical inspection of exhaust emissions, tyre condition, and underbody rust is essential.
