2005 Ford Fiesta 1.4L Diesel · FA05 EYG

The 2005 Ford Fiesta demonstrates stable roadworthiness, with no defects recorded in its most recent MOT on 2026-01-09 at 83,411 miles. All prior tests from 2021 to 2025 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance and no emerging mechanical concerns. The absence of advisories or failures across this six-year span suggests the vehicle has been well-kept, with no signs of deteriorating systems or recurring faults. The mileage of 83,411 miles over 21 years equates to an average of 3,972 miles annually, significantly lower than typical usage. This pattern implies infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can lead to component stiffness or fluid degradation. Gaps between MOTs range from 12 to 14 months, with the longest interval between 2021-08-06 (76,312 miles) and 2022-08-09 (77,854 miles), a 1,542-mile increase over 12 months. Such slow accumulation may mask wear on consumables like tyres or brake pads, necessitating closer inspection of these elements. Despite the clean MOT history, a buyer should verify the condition of suspension components, including bushes and coil springs, which can degrade without regular use. The absence of corrosion reports is positive, but rust-prone areas like sills or underbody panels warrant scrutiny. Brake systems, particularly rear calipers and discs, should be checked for binding or uneven wear, as these can develop silently. The lack of recorded issues is reassuring, but physical examination remains critical to confirm the vehicle’s mechanical integrity beyond documented tests.
