2015 Toyota Auris 1.8L Hybrid electric · FH65 HNF

A consistent run of clean pass results with no recorded defects defines the mechanical profile of this 2015 Toyota Auris, supporting its roadworthiness record. The most recent assessment on 3 March 2026 returned a pass with no advisories, continuing an uninterrupted sequence of clean outcomes that stretches back through 2025 and 2024. The only items of note across the entire testing history are advisories logged at the 2022 and 2023 examinations, both relating to rear tyre perishing on the nearside and offside, accompanied by a nail-in-tyre advisory and a minor wiper blade defect in 2022. The absence of any repeat advisories on the same components after 2023 indicates that the previously flagged tyre condition was resolved rather than representing a chronic deterioration pattern. At roughly 4,461 miles per year across an eleven-year life, this Auris sits firmly in low-mileage territory for its age and class, with 49,075 miles currently recorded. Annual mileage gaps between tests are small and consistent, with recorded readings progressing steadily through the 2022 to 2026 period rather than exhibiting long stationary intervals or sudden unexplained jumps. Lower annual accumulation typically reduces wear on friction components such as brake pads and discs, while leaving items prone to age-related deterioration including rubber boots, suspension bushes, drive belts, and tyre sidewalls more exposed to perishing from infrequent use. The 2022 and 2023 tyre advisories are consistent with this age-driven deterioration rather than wear from high usage, and a buyer should expect that consumables replaced purely on age may still be due. Given the advisory history, particular attention during a physical inspection should focus on the rear tyres and wiper mechanism. Inspect all four tyres for sidewall cracking, tread depth across the full width, and any embedded damage, as the same nearside and offside rear tyres were flagged in consecutive years for perishing before disappearing from later records. Confirm that both wiper blades clear the screen without smearing or skipping, since the 2022 advisory covered both sides. On a test drive, listen for any knocking or clonking from the rear suspension over uneven surfaces, which could indicate perished bushes or weakened coil springs associated with age rather than mileage, and check for pulling under braking or uneven pedal feel that may point to binding rear calipers, a common concern on lightly used vehicles where corrosion can seize the slider mechanisms. The broader mechanical condition appears sound based on the available data, with no recorded advisories relating to the brake system, suspension arms, subframe corrosion, exhaust integrity, or structural components across any of the tests in the record. Under-bonnet inspection should still focus on age-related items outside MOT scope, including the condition of coolant and brake fluid, drive belt surface cracking, and any signs of oil misting or weeping from cam covers or the rear main seal. A low-mileage Toyota of this generation with a clean advisory history is generally a strong proposition, but verifying recent replacement of the timing chain or water pump, along with evidence of periodic fluid changes, will provide additional confidence given the low annual usage pattern.
