A remarkably consistent record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, characterized by a series of clean passes with virtually no recorded defects over the last five years. The most recent test on 3 August 2026 continues this trend of stability, confirming a vehicle that has remained mechanically sound and compliant with DVSA standards without the recurring failures often associated with cars of this vintage. The recorded mileage of 82,222 miles is exceptionally low for a vehicle over four decades old, averaging approximately 1,912 miles per year. This usage pattern indicates a life of light duty or significant periods of inactivity, which typically results in reduced wear on the drivetrain and engine internals compared to high-mileage examples. Such low annual accumulation often means that mechanical wear is less a factor than the natural degradation of rubber components and seals over time. Attention should be directed toward the front suspension and steering geometry, specifically regarding the nearside front tyre. A 2023 advisory noted inner edge wear, which is a common symptom of incorrect wheel alignment or worn suspension bushes and ball joints causing the wheel to toe-out. During a test drive, the buyer should monitor for any steering pull or instability at speed and listen for knocks or clicks when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. Beyond the steering alignment, the absence of structural corrosion or brake defects in the recent MOT history is a positive indicator for a vehicle of this era. The buyer should verify that the tyre replaced after the 2023 advisory is wearing evenly across the tread. A physical inspection of the nearside front suspension linkages is recommended to ensure no play exists in the joints, which would explain the previous inner edge wear and could lead to premature tyre failure if left unaddressed.
