2012 Toyota Aygo VVT-I ICE 1.0L Petrol · FRZ 2554

The roadworthiness of this vehicle is currently questionable following a failed MOT test in April 2024 at 98,855 miles. While the car previously maintained a clean record with no advisories, the most recent result indicates a shift in the maintenance trend. Because no specific defects were listed for the 2024 failure in the provided data, the vehicle likely failed due to a significant mechanical or structural issue that was not present during the three preceding years of successful inspections. The mileage history reflects a consistent usage pattern, averaging approximately 7,000 miles per year over its fourteen-year lifespan. There is a notable three-year gap between the November 2019 and April 2022 tests, during which the vehicle covered 13,237 miles. Since then, the accumulation has remained steady, with roughly 8,000 miles covered annually leading up to the 2024 failure. This low-mileage profile suggests the vehicle has not been subjected to heavy commercial stress but points toward age-related degradation rather than high-frequency mechanical wear. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the structural integrity of the underbody and the condition of the suspension components. Given the age of the Aygo, corrosion on the sills or rear mounting points is a common concern that could trigger a sudden MOT failure. The 2024 failure also necessitates a close look at the braking system for binding calipers or worn lines, and the exhaust system for perforation, as these are frequent points of failure on older Toyota models. Verify that the rubber bushes are not perished, as the low annual mileage has not prevented these components from perishing over time.
