2017 Skoda Superb 1.6L Diesel · GC17 LLJ

This vehicle demonstrates a remarkably consistent record of roadworthiness, characterized by a near-total absence of defects or advisories over the last five years. A clean pass on 2026-06-25 continues a stable trend of mechanical reliability, with the only recorded blemish being a minor advisory for rear brake pad wear in 2023. Such a sparse history of failures suggests the vehicle has remained mechanically sound throughout its testing cycle. The recorded mileage of 119,120 miles is high for a nine-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 13,236 miles per annum. This level of usage indicates a high-intensity duty cycle, which typically accelerates the wear of drivetrain components, suspension bushings, and engine consumables. While the MOT history is clean, the physical reality of this mileage means the vehicle has undergone significantly more mechanical stress than a lower-mileage equivalent of the same age. Given the previous advisory regarding rear brake pads in 2023 and the subsequent clean passes, it is likely these were replaced, but a test drive should still be used to verify braking performance. Listen for any grinding or squealing from the rear axle and feel for any pedal judder that could indicate warped discs. Because of the high mileage, particular attention should be paid to the suspension; drive over uneven surfaces to check for knocks or clunks that would suggest worn suspension bushes or failing coil springs. Further inspection should focus on the drivetrain and steering integrity. Check for any steering pull or excessive play in the wheel that might indicate wear in the steering rack or tie rods. While no oil leaks were flagged in the DVSA records, a physical inspection of the engine bay for oil misting or seepage is advisable given the total mileage. Ensure the gear transitions are smooth and devoid of hesitation, as high-mileage vehicles often show wear in the transmission system.
